Mark Warner

Mark Warner was born on December 15, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He grew up in a middle-class family and was the first in his family to graduate from college. Warner attended George Washington University and then Harvard Law School, where he graduated in 1980. These formative years laid the foundation for his future career in politics and business.

On January 13, 2001, Mark Warner was inaugurated as the 69th Governor of Virginia. His tenure was marked by efforts to improve education and transportation as well as bridging the political divide between Northern Virginia and other parts of the state.
