2010 Tennessee Floods
In May 2010, the Great Flood of 2010 impacted much of Tennessee, including Clarksville, after record rainfall caused massive flooding. Clarksville experienced severe flooding, particularly along the Cumberland River which swelled beyond its banks. The flooding resulted in significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and businesses across the city. The floodwaters inundated areas near the riverfront, causing millions of dollars in damage and displacing numerous residents. The 2010 floods are considered among the costliest and most devastating natural disasters in Tennessee's history, prompting extensive recovery efforts in the aftermath.
