Rani Khedira

Rani Khedira was born on January 27, 1994, in Stuttgart, Germany. He is the younger brother of footballer Sami Khedira. From a young age, Rani showed promise in football, following in his prolific older brother’s footsteps. Born into a family with a strong sports background, Rani developed his skills on the streets of Stuttgart.

Rani Khedira made his Bundesliga debut on August 11, 2012, playing for VfB Stuttgart against Wolfsburg. Despite not being as globally renowned as his brother Sami, Rani established himself as a reliable player in the domestic league. This debut marked the beginning of his professional football career in one of the top European leagues.

Rani Khedira played a pivotal role during RB Leipzig's successful 2013-2014 season, which culminated in their promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. As a young midfielder, he contributed significantly to the team’s performance, notably through his defensive skills and passing abilities, which were crucial during their promotion campaign.

In March 2023, Tunisia expressed interest in Rani Khedira representing them in international football. Despite having played for German youth teams, Rani's eligibility to play for Tunisia came through his Tunisian father. This consideration came as Tunisia looked to strengthen their squad with players experienced in European football.

On April 15, 2023, Union Berlin qualified for European competitions for the upcoming season, marking a historic achievement for the club with Rani Khedira as a central figure in the team.
