Rapper Lil Wayne was born on September 27, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.
Lil Wayne signed to Cash Money Records on November 8, 1994. The rapper became the youngest member of the label. The label was largely controlled by Birdman and Slim.

The rapper later had issues with his record label and eventual sued Birdman for $51 million.
The official announcement was made on June 7, 2018, that Lil Wayne was freed from his contract with Cash Money Records.
After years of waiting, Lil Wayne was finally able to release ‘Tha Carter V’ on September 27, 2018. The album debuted at the number one spot on the US Billboard 200 chart. Every track from this project made it to the Billboard 100. The rapper had 4 songs in the top 10 list simultaneously.
The rapper released ‘Funeral’ on January 31, 2020. The album debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard 200. Overall, the album received a lot of positive feedback.
