On May 29, 2017, the World Peace Pagoda was inaugurated in Pokhara. Situated atop a hill overlooking the beautiful Phewa Lake, the World Peace Pagoda is a symbol of harmony and peace. Constructed with the purpose of uniting people of different cultural backgrounds, the pagoda has become a popular tourist attraction. This site emphasizes peace and non-violence and offers panoramic views of the Annapurna range and the city below. During the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25, 2015, Pokhara played a crucial role as a center for relief operations.
