Epcot, the second theme park at Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, near Orlando, Florida, opened on October 1, 1982. This theme park is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement, namely technological innovation and international culture, and is often referred to as a permanent world's fair. Epcot stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, a utopian city concept developed by Walt Disney in the 1960s.
