John Madden

John Earl Madden was born on April 10, 1936, in Austin, Minnesota. He would go on to become a prominent football coach, television commentator, and namesake of the popular Madden NFL video game series.

John Madden played college football at the University of Oregon, where he played both offense and defense. His college career was significant as it laid the foundation for his future coaching career. However, a knee injury curtailed his playing days.
