In April 2022, Go Ahead Eagles launched the 'Kowet Kansen' program, an initiative focused on youth development and community support. The initiative reflects the club's commitment to social responsibility and community integration, beyond just football.

On 12 May 2021, Go Ahead Eagles secured yet another return to the Eredivisie. With a solid performance in the Eerste Divisie, they earned a direct promotion, this time finishing in second place behind Cambuur. This success further demonstrated the club's resilience and ability to bounce back after adversity, continuing to uphold their historical legacy within Dutch football.

In March 2020, the football season was abruptly suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting Go Ahead Eagles significantly. The sudden halt in league play disrupted their campaign, which was promising toward a return to Eredivisie. The pandemic led to unique challenges and unprecedented measures in Dutch football, including the voiding of that season without promotions or relegations.

In January 2019, Go Ahead Eagles underwent a significant ownership change when the majority shares were acquired by the Adoter Group. This investment company took control of the club with the intention to strengthen its financial status and future competitiveness. The acquisition aimed to provide stability and an opportunity for the team to strive for consistent success in Dutch football leagues.

On 22 May 2016, Go Ahead Eagles were once again promoted to the Eredivisie after prevailing in the promotion/relegation play-offs. Their victory over De Graafschap in the decisive match meant a swift return to the top division after only one year in the Eerste Divisie. The continuous fluctuation between divisions highlights the club's persistent efforts to remain competitive at the highest level.

In February 2014, the stadium of Go Ahead Eagles was renamed to De Adelaarshorst, which means 'The Eagles' Nest'. Historically, this venue had been the club's home ground since its establishment but is now officially recognized by this prestigious name. The renaming symbolizes the strong identity and heritage of the club, promoting its historical roots while recognizing the passionate fan base.

On 26 May 2013, Go Ahead Eagles achieved promotion to the Eredivisie by winning the promotion/relegation play-offs. They defeated FC Volendam in the final round, securing a top-flight spot after a 17-year absence. This achievement was celebrated intensely by the club's supporters, marking a triumphant return to the Eredivisie for a club with a long and storied tradition in Dutch football.

On 24 May 1987, Go Ahead Eagles secured promotion to the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football. Their promotion was confirmed after a successful season in the Eerste Divisie, marked by resilient performances and critical victories. This promotion was significant as it brought the team back to the forefront of Dutch football, allowing them to compete against top clubs in the country.

On 19 May 1971, Go Ahead Eagles reached the KNVB Cup final, showcasing their prowess in Dutch football. In the final, they faced and were ultimately defeated by Ajax with a 3-2 score. Reaching the final emphasized the team's competitive edge during this period, being able to challenge teams of high caliber. This period marked yet another memorable highlight in their rich history.

Go Ahead Eagles, originally named Be Quick, was founded on 2 December 1902 in Deventer, Netherlands. The club initially began as a cricket club but soon switched to football. Over the years, Go Ahead Eagles became one of the most famous clubs in the early history of Dutch football, winning the national championship four times in the early 20th century, making a strong impact in both regional and national competitions.
