Evansville

Evansville, Indiana was founded in 1812 when Hugh McGary Jr., recognizing the potential of the area's strategic location along the Ohio River, purchased 200 acres of land. He began laying out the town and later renamed it Evansville to honor Colonel Robert Morgan Evans.
