Dwight Yorke

Dwight Eversley Yorke was born on November 3, 1971, in Canaan, a town located in Tobago, the smaller of the two main islands that form the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. His extraordinary football talent emerged early in his life, which eventually led him to pursue a successful career in football, becoming one of the most well-known players from the Caribbean.

Dwight Yorke made his professional debut for Aston Villa on October 24, 1989, against Crystal Palace. He began his career at Aston Villa after being discovered by their manager, Graham Taylor, during a tour in the Caribbean. Starting as a right winger, he eventually became a prolific striker and key player for the club.

On August 20, 1998, Dwight Yorke transferred to Manchester United for a then-club record fee of £12.6 million. He was signed by manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who saw his potential to greatly enhance United's strike force. This transfer was pivotal in United's success during the 1998-1999 season when they won the treble.
