She was born in 1943 and she attended Aburi Girls Secondatry School and Kwame Nkrumah Univesity of Science and Technology
Veronica attended Aburi Girls SHS and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at KNUST
Veronica invented the Veronica bucket in 1971 to reduce disease spread through handwashing cross-contamination. The device was developed to address the challenge of running water in medical work, causing health risks. The prototype, known as Akorlaa gyae su, is now widely used globally to combat COVID-19.
She has Over 30 years of experience in medical laboratory practice, including Public Health and Reference Laboratory, National AIDS/STI Control Program, and laboratory management, training manuals, mentorship, and diagnostic guidelines.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo awards her for social innovation in combating infectious diseases.
