She holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration and a Master's in international relations and Diplomacy from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

In the 2016 parliamentary elections, Mensah won with 34,216 votes out of 59,926 valid votes cast, competing against Obuobia Darko-Opoku and Jessica Adwoa Mannuel. She also emerged victorious in the 2020 Ghanaian general election as the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate.
