Stephan El Shaarawy was born on October 27, 1992, in Savona, Italy. He is of mixed heritage, with an Egyptian father and an Italian mother. He began playing football at a very young age and showed promise in his early teens. As a talented footballer, he joined the youth team of Genoa, a Serie A club, where he honed his skills and began his journey to becoming a professional footballer.

Stephan El Shaarawy made his Serie A debut for Genoa C.F.C. on December 21, 2008, at the age of 16 years and 55 days, making him one of the youngest players to debut in the Italian top flight.
