Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson

Born in Ghana, Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson entered the political arena as a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). His passion for public service and desire to bring positive change to his country motivated him to actively participate in politics.

In February 2004, Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson assumed the role of mayor of Accra, taking over from Alfred Oko Vanderpuije. Notably, he was the sole candidate vying for the position during the elections held by the Electoral Commission of Ghana. The election sought the agreement or disagreement of 102 assembly members with the president's choice. Blankson secured an overwhelming 78% of the valid votes cast, receiving 80 votes and thus assuming the mayoral office.

During his tenure as mayor, Blankson focused on implementing initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges faced by Accra. Recognizing the urgency of decongesting the city's traffic and mitigating the occurrence of floods, he spearheaded various projects. These projects sought to alleviate the burden on commuters and enhance the overall livability of the city. Blankson's commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring the well-being of Accra's residents earned him recognition and appreciation.

In February 2017, Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson received a significant appointment by President Nana Akuffo-Addo. He was selected to serve as a member of Ghana's Council of State, a consultative body that advises the president on matters of national importance.

Beyond his political endeavors, Blankson maintains a fulfilling personal life. He is married to Madam Florence Okai-Blankson, and their partnership serves as a pillar of support throughout his career.
