Inkoom, a former member of the Black Satellites and Black Starlets, played for Ghana's national team, the Black Stars, making his debut in 2008 and participating in the 2009 African Youth Championship and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where Ghana reached the final but lost to the Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout.

Inkoom started his career in Ghana with Sekondi Hasaacas before moving to Asante Kotoko SC, and later played for various clubs including FC Basel, FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Bastia, Platanias, D.C. United, Boavista, Antalyaspor, and FC Vereya, but faced a one-year ban by the Bulgarian Football Union due to damages caused to a real estate while playing for D.C. United.
