Samuel Abu Jinapor pronunciation, is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party and the Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency. In 2017, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo appointed him as Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations at the Office of the President, at the age of 33, the youngest in the history of Ghana to occupy such a position. He is currently the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and assumed position as caretaker Minister of Trade and Industry on 16 January
Jinapor was born in 1983 to Abudulai Jinapor, a former police officer and Chief of Buipe in Ghana.
Jinapor had his academic degrees in physics, law, and alternative dispute resolution, being admitted to the Ghana Bar in 2012.
Abu Jinapor was a Campaign Aide for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in presidential primaries, becoming Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations at the Office of the President, and winning the parliamentary seat of Damongo in the 2020 general elections. He has been nicknamed the "Man of Action" by his constituents. He has served as both the Minister responsible for Lands and Natural Resources and the caretaker Trade and Industry Minister in President Akufo-Addo's government.
After completing his pupillage at Messrs. Kulendi@Law under the guidance of Yonny Kulendi, who is now a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana, Jinapor quickly advanced to the position of Senior Associate, gaining experience as an advocate in significant commercial litigations and international negotiations, representing major foreign companies in Ghanaian courts and arbitral tribunals.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with a specialization in Biomedical Physics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and later achieved his goal of becoming a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana after earning a Master's degree in Law (LL.M) in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, in May 2017, during which he took academic sessions in various legal subjects.
Mr. Jinapor is in a joyful marriage with Mrs. Naada D.B. Jinapor, who is a Lawyer and heads the Corporate Law Department of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) of Ghana. They have been blessed with four (4) children.
