Richard Acheampong

Richard Acheampong was born on May 18, 1970, in the town of Adabokrom, located in the Western Region of Ghana.

Richard Acheampong embarked on his academic journey at the University College of Management Studies in Kumasi, where he pursued a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource. Acheampong later attended Mountcrest University College in Kanda-Accra, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Law (L.L.B). This legal qualification further strengthened his ability to advocate for justice and contribute meaningfully to the political landscape.

Prior to his entry into politics, Richard Acheampong gained valuable professional experience in the banking sector. From 2006 to 2012, he served as the Operations Manager at Nafana Rural Bank Limited, where he honed his financial acumen and understanding of rural banking operations. Acheampong's work in the banking industry provided him with insights into the challenges faced by rural communities and the importance of inclusive development.

Richard Acheampong's political journey began in 2012 when he contested for the Bia East seat on the ticket of the NDC for the sixth parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. His deep-rooted connection with his constituents, coupled with his commitment to improving the lives of rural communities, resonated with the electorate. Acheampong emerged victorious in the elections, securing a seat in the National Parliament.

During his tenure as a member of parliament from 2013 to 2016, Richard Acheampong worked tirelessly to champion the interests of the Bia East Constituency in the Western Region. His dedication to rural development manifested in his advocacy for increased access to basic infrastructure, education, healthcare, and improved livelihoods for his constituents. Acheampong's contributions to parliamentary debates and discussions reflected his passion for addressing the challenges faced by rural communities and ensuring their voices were heard at the national level.
