Raja Krishnamoorthi

Raja Krishnamoorthi was born on July 19, 1973, in New Delhi, India. His family moved to the United States when he was just three months old. They settled in Buffalo, New York, and later moved to Peoria, Illinois. Krishnamoorthi excelled academically and went on to earn a degree in mechanical engineering from Princeton University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.

In 2004, Raja Krishnamoorthi ran for a seat in the Illinois State Senate representing the 26th district. Although he was not successful in the election, this marked his entry into politics and set the stage for his future political career.
