Peter Kwamena Essilfie Bartels is a Ghanaian politician and former government minister of the New Patriotic Party
Bartels was accepted to the University of Ghana after completing his studies at Mfantsipim School in 1968, where he studied law. Bartels continued his education at the Ghana School of Law after receiving his bachelor's degree in 1971 in order to pursue a career as a lawyer.
In 1996, Bartels was elected MP for the Ablekuma North constituency
From 2001 to 2004, he served as the Minister of Works and Housing. Later, he was appointed Minister of Information and National Orientation (2006–2007), Minister of the Interior (2007–2008), and Minister of the Private Sector and PSI (2005–2006).
