Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu was born on February 3, 1957

Osei originates from Bremang-Afrancho, a town located in Kumasi, Ashanti Region. In 1982, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Osei is a long-serving member of the New Patriotic Party, having held his parliamentary seat since January 1997, representing his constituency in multiple parliaments and holding various committee positions

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, representing the New Patriotic Party, won the parliamentary elections in the Suame constituency of the Ashanti Region of Ghana in 1996, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2020 with varying percentages of the votes cast.

Mensah Bonsu proposed renaming the Parliament's Job 600 building after Justice D. F. Annan, the first speaker of Ghana's fourth parliament, to recognize his contributions to parliamentary affairs and democracy, while suggesting that one of the new blocks be named after Peter Ala Adjetey, who succeeded Justice Annan; however, members of the Convention People's Party opposed the renaming, arguing that it would erase the historical significance of Kwame Nkrumah's contributions to Ghanaian history.

After a successful election in which he surpassed his sole contender, New Zealand's Garry Brownlee, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was elected as the new acting Vice-Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) by its Executive Committee.

Osei is a devoted Christian who attends the Assemblies of God Church and is married with a total of eight children.
