Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, previously known as Nana Oye Lithur, is a Ghanaian barrister and politician, renowned Human Rights advocate, and a former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
She attended Wesley Girls' High School and Ridge Church School for her education. She earned a law degree from the University of Ghana in Legon as well as a master's degree in law, human rights, and democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
She served as the primary consultant for the 2004 Ghana NEPAD/Africa Peer Review Mechanism Report's human rights section. The OSI/AFRIMAP Report on Ghana's Access to Justice was also written by Nana Oye Lithur.She is famous for her fierce enthusiasm and commitment to promoting gender equality and human rights.
Her advocacy group aids in the legal access of the underprivileged. The center has handled 677 human rights claims since 2009.
The Commonwealth Secretary-General chose Nana Oye Lithur to be a member of the Commonwealth Observer Group for the Guyana national and local elections in November 2011.

She has served as the Regional Coordinator (Africa Office) for the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative as well as the Executive Director of the Human Rights Advocacy Center. She has held advisory positions with the International Consortium on Realizing Reproductive Rights and served on the steering council of the International Consortium on Medical Abortion.
