MoSE Testing in Mestre
On 8 July 2019, testing of the MoSE (Modulo Sperimentale Elettromeccanico) barriers took place in the water surrounding Mestre, as part of the efforts to protect Venice and its surrounding areas from flooding. The testing was a critical phase in the development of this massive infrastructure project designed to address the impacts of high tides and climate change on the lagoon area. Mestre's involvement in the project highlights its importance in regional environmental and urban management planning, addressing future challenges of rising sea levels and safeguarding the cultural heritage of Venice.
