Mercy Johnson Okojie, born in Lagos State to a former naval officer and his wife, hails from Okene in Kogi State and is the fourth child in a family of seven, with her education spanning across Calabar, Lagos, and Rivers State.

Career
Following her secondary education, Mercy Johnson embarked on her acting career and gained recognition through movies like "The Maid," "Hustlers," and "Baby Oku in America," winning awards for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress at the 2009 African Movie Award ceremony and the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards respectively; she was also named Google's most searched Nigerian celebrity in 2011 and 2012, and she currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi state governor on entertainment, arts, and culture, and despite facing a ban for her high demands, she later made her debut as a film producer with "The Legend of Inikpi."
