Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong is a Ghanaian female legal practitioner and a former Attorney General of Ghana and Minister for Justice of Ghana.
At the Tema Parents Association School, Marietta began her formal education. She completed her secondary school at St. Roses Senior High in Akwatia, where she took the O level and A level exams. Later, she received both her professional certificate to practice law from the Ghana School of Law (Makola) and her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ghana, Legon. She subsequently traveled to the Netherlands to complete her postgraduate degree at the Institute of Social Studies in Hague.
Marietta began her career as a practicing attorney at the Fugar and Co. law company twenty years ago. She later made the transition to senior partner at the law firm of Lithur Brew and Co. She is on the Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors' (GARIA) Honorary Council
She was a member of the Ghana @50 Commission of Inquiry and a 2009 appointment by the late President John Atta-Mills to the Volta River Authority (VRA) board.
From February 2013 to January 6, 2017, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong served as Ghana's Attorney General and Minister of Justice under former President John Dramani Mahama.
She was appointed in June 2018 to the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce for a three-year term, beginning on July 1, 2018, and ending on June 30, 2021. At the ICC's World Council Meeting in Paris on June 21, 2018, the decision to appoint her was made.
