Mahama Ayariga, born on Sunday, 12th May 1974 in Bawku, a town in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
Ayariga attended Barewa College in Zaria, Nigeria, before pursuing further studies in the United States of America. He holds a Master of Law (LLM) degree from the prestigious Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) Degree from the University of Ghana, Legon. His academic background reflects his commitment to knowledge and legal expertise.
Ayariga started as a teaching assistant in natural resources law and international law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana. Additionally, he co-founded and served as the executive director of the Legal Resources Centre, an organization focused on promoting human rights, community development, and social justice.
Ayariga's political journey began when he was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bawku Central constituency in 2005.
Ayariga served as the Minister of Information and Media Relations and later as the Minister of Youth and Sports during the administration of President John Dramani Mahama.
Ayariga has continued to serve in this capacity, representing his constituents through the 6th and 7th Parliaments of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
