In August 2013, Magellan Health Services announced it was rebranding itself to Magellan Health, Inc. The rebranding was intended to emphasize the company's focus on its core mission to provide comprehensive health services, including behavioral health, radiology benefits management, and specialty drug management, while leveraging new technologies and collaborative approaches.

In October 2014, Magellan Health announced it had acquired the Armed Forces Services Corporation (AFSC). The acquisition was aimed at strengthening Magellan's position within the federal government sector and expanding services to support military and other government programs, aligning with the company's strategic direction to diversify its service offerings.

Magellan Health announced the acquisition of CDMI, LLC, a privately-held company that provides pharmacy management services. This strategic acquisition, which was completed in July 2015, was part of Magellan's efforts to boost its pharmacy management capabilities and to expand its presence in the specialty drug management industry.

Beginning in January 2016, Magellan Health collaborated with the National Safety Agency (NSA) to tackle the opioid crisis. This partnership focused on developing comprehensive programs for opioid use management, promoting safe use, and providing educational resources for both providers and patients to reduce dependency and enhance recovery.

In December 2017, Magellan Health introduced a new digital therapy platform aimed at advancing mental health care delivery. This platform offered a range of evidence-based therapeutic tools and resources accessible online, enhancing patient engagement and expanding Magellan's capabilities in the digital health landscape.

Magellan Health launched an innovative employee assistance program integrated with Amazon Alexa in September 2018. This program aimed to use voice-enabled technology to provide employees with easier access to mental health resources, stress management techniques, and counseling services through a more intuitive and interactive platform.

In December 2019, Centene Corporation announced its acquisition of Magellan Health for approximately $2.2 billion, a move that aimed to expand Centene's behavioral health platform and capabilities in specialty health areas. This acquisition was seen as a strategic expansion to enhance the company's ability to deliver comprehensive healthcare services.

In January 2020, Magellan Federal, a division of Magellan Health, was awarded a substantial contract worth $2 billion to provide support services to U.S. service members and veterans. This contract emphasized Magellan's commitment to enhancing mental health and wellness services for military personnel through comprehensive solutions tailored to their unique needs.

In January 2021, Centene Corporation completed its acquisition of Magellan Health, following the announcement in 2019. This move consolidated Centene's position as a leader in managed care with an expanded behavioral health platform, and was expected to provide integrated health solutions on a larger scale to individuals and communities nationwide.

Magellan Health launched its anti-racism initiative in February 2022 to address racial disparities and biases in mental health services. The program focuses on enhancing cultural competence among providers, creating inclusive service environments, and offering tailored mental health care that respects and values diversity across communities.
