Laadi Ayii Ayamba, a Ghanaian Member of Parliament representing the Pusiga Constituency in the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
Born on December 26, 1961, in Pusiga, Upper East Region, Laadi Ayi Ayamba attended Pusiga Continuation Middle School, became a trained teacher at Gbewaa Teacher Training College, and earned a bachelor's degree in Basic Education from the University of Education, Winneba.
Ayamba began her career as a teacher from 1981 to 1991, later becoming a head-teacher until 2000, when she was reappointed as the Officer in charge of Day Nursery Schools by the Ghana Education Service.
Ayamba, a member of the National Democratic Congress, secured her seat in parliament as the Member of Parliament for Pusiga Constituency, Upper East Region, defeating her opponents Simon Akunye Atingban and Osman Aludiba Ayuba with 46.78% of the total valid votes, totaling 15,847 votes out of 29,592.
As Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Gender and Children, she represented Ghana at the 59th session of the UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in Geneva, Switzerland, contributing to Ghana's efforts to eliminate discrimination against women. She emphasized Ghana's progress in combating harmful cultural practices through new laws, highlighted the importance of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) policy, and led efforts to enhance sex education in schools to address teenage pregnancy.
Laadi, along with Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, Abdul-Aziz Ayaba Musah, Johnson Kwaku Adu, and Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, took their oaths during the Extraordinary Session 2021 of the ECOWAS Parliament held in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
