Kwame Anyimado Antwi was born on the 12th of April, 1962, in Kokofu, with roots traced back to Patriensa in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Kwame Anyimado's journey in education began at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Furthering his academic pursuits, he earned a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the same institution in 2013. He obtained an M.A. in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi's relentless pursuit of knowledge culminated in a Barrister at Law qualification, having completed his legal studies at the Ghana School of Law. He also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of London.
Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi started his career as an Educationist, working at the Land Valuation Division as an assistant valuer from 1989 to 1991. His career path then led him to serve as the Estate Officer, assisting the manager at the State Insurance Company of Ghana. He holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at a real estate consultancy.
Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi's foray into politics is marked by his affiliation with the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He embarked on his political career by becoming a Member of Parliament for the Asante-Akim North Constituency. In the 2008 election, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi of the NPP secured 67.65% of the votes, followed by Thomas Osei Bonsu of the NDC with 18.02%, Alexander Osei Tutu of the IND with 13.20%, Francis Kyei of the PDP with 0.43%, Atobrah Isaac of the PNC with 0.40%, and Kwabena Anarfi of the CPP with 0.30%.
In 2012, Asante Akim North was rezoned and divided into two, leading to the formation of the Asante Akim Central Constituency, which falls under the Asante Akim-Central Municipal. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi transitioned to stand as a member of parliament for Asante Akim Central in the 2012 parliamentary elections, a position he secured with 68.32% of the total votes cast.
His political career continued to flourish as he won re-election in the 2016 elections for the Asante Akim Central in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Remarkably, he secured a third term in office, winning with an impressive 75.90% of the total votes cast.
In December 2020, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi stood again in the Parliamentary elections and emerged victorious, receiving 52.72% of the votes. This win secured his position in the 8th Parliament of Ghana.
Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi has served as the Chairman of the Employment, Social Welfare, and State Enterprises Committee during the 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana. He is Chairperson of the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Finance Committee and the Standing Orders Committee.
