Kojo Vincent Oppong Nkrumah was born on 5 April 1982
In 2006, Nkrumah started working as a Treasury Analyst at British American Tobacco. He later moved into broadcast journalism at Joy FM and subsequently founded an investment firm called West Brownstone Capital in 2014. In 2016, he became a lawyer at the law firm Kulendi, Attafuah and Amponsah. He was recently acknowledged by the World Economic Forum as one of the world's 115 Young Global Leaders for 2020.
Nkrumah attended various schools including St. Bernadette Soubirous School and Pope John Senior High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Cape Coast, an MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana, and a bachelor's degree in Law from GIMPA Faculty of Law. He also completed a Fellowship with the African Leadership Initiative, which greatly influenced his personal and professional development, before starting his legal career and being called to the Bar as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
In 2015, Kojo Nkrumah won the NPP parliamentary primaries for Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency in Ghana and later became the Minister for Information, serving in various parliamentary committees and as the President's Representative at the Ministry of Information. He was designated as the Minister of Information by President Nana Akufo-Addo after the 2020 elections and in August 2023, he called on CSOs and media to support diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis in Niger.
Nkrumah was born in Koforidua, Ghana, to parents who were teachers and later a banker. He is from Akim Anyinase. The Oppong Nkrumah Education and Skills Development Fund was established in 2017 to support education and skills development for the youth of a constituency. The fund has provided scholarships to over 300 students between 2017 and 2022.
