Kobina Tahir Hammond was born on June 16, 1960, in Adansi Asokwa, Ghana, a town in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Education
His educational journey began at Adisadel College, where he completed his high school education. This was only the beginning of his academic pursuits. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Ghana in 1986. Later, in 1991, he furthered his legal education at Gray's Inn, Holborn Law School, London, UK, earning a Bachelor of Law degree.
Career
Hammond's career took an international turn when he became a partner at the prestigious Chancery Chambers in London. His experience in law and international affairs provided a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Political Career
Kobina Tahir Hammond's political journey commenced when he joined the New Patriotic Party. He made his mark by winning the Ghana General Election in December 2000, officially becoming a Member of Parliament (MP) in January 2001, securing 10,306 votes out of 19,407 total valid votes cast. This victory gave him a significant 54.4% share of the total valid votes.
