Early life and education

Henshaw was born on July 19, 1971, in Calabar, Nigeria, and grew up in Cross River State as the eldest of four children. She completed her primary and secondary education in Lagos and Calabar before attending the University of Calabar, where she pursued remedial studies for a year. Henshaw later majored in Medical Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science, LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital), in Lagos. Before embarking on her acting career, she worked at the Bauchi State General Hospital.

Venturing into acting

Before becoming an actress, Henshaw initially pursued a career in modeling. Her striking looks and charisma led her to feature in various commercials, including print and television advertisements for Shield deodorant. However, her true passion lay in acting, and in 1993, she auditioned for and won the lead role in the movie "When the Sun Sets." This marked her breakthrough in the Nollywood industry, and she has since appeared in over 45 Nollywood movies.

Intrigued by his plight, Henshaw developed a keen interest in his case and traced the boy's family. Along with several others, she contributed 8 million nairas towards Michael's treatment. However, due to disagreements and requests from the family, Henshaw returned the donated funds and had to stop assisting the boy's family.
