John Frimpong Osei, a prominent politician, was born in the town of Akim Ntronang in the Eastern Region of Ghana on Friday, 5th March, 1971.
John Frimpong's educational journey began with a Middle School Certificate in 1986, followed by Ordinary Level and Advanced Level qualifications in 1991 and 1993, respectively. His academic pursuits continued as he enrolled at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Geography Resource Development in 1998. His dedication to knowledge saw him complete a Master of Philosophy (M.PHIL) in Micro Finance Geography in 2004.
John Frimpong Osei held the position of manager at O-M Finance and Business Service Limited from 1999 to 2000, demonstrating his aptitude in finance and business management. Later, between 2002 and 2005, he served as a Special Assistant to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and the Ministry of Education. His commitment to youth and sports was evident as he also served as a Special Assistant to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
John Frimpong Osei's political journey has been marked by significant achievements. He won the parliamentary seat in the Abirem Constituency during the 2016 Ghanaian general elections, representing the New Patriotic Party. His victory garnered 19,208 votes, which accounted for 61.0% of the total vote share, against Mavis Ama Frimpong of the National Democratic Congress, who secured 12,217 votes (38.8%).
John continued his success in the 2020 general elections, where he once again emerged victorious on the NPP ticket. This time, he secured 19,151 votes (55.2%) against Mavis Ama Frimpong's 15,110 votes (43.5%).
John Frimpong Osei's dedication and leadership have not gone unnoticed. He was honored with the United Clergy International Association (UCIA) 2020 Hall Of Fame Award For Excellence In Leadership. The UCIA held its 11th edition of the awards at All Nations University on 8 August 2020, where John Frimpong Osei was recognized for his outstanding contributions to leadership and public service.
John Frimpong Osei serves as the Chairperson of the Food, Agriculture, and Cocoa Affairs Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Privileges Committee, where he plays a vital role in ensuring transparency and accountability within the parliamentary system.
