John Ampontuah Kumah

Hon. John Kumah was born on 4 August 1978, in Ejisu Odaho

Kuma attended Opoku Ware School for his secondary education, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Philosophy from the University of Ghana in 1997, an MBA in Finance from GIMPA in 2009, a Law degree (LLB) from the University of Ghana, a Professional Law degree (BL) from the Ghana School of Law, a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Business Research from Nobel International Business School in 2019, and finally received a Doctorate in Business Innovation and a Masters in Applied Research (Business Innovation) from the Swiss Business School in November 2020.

John Ampontuah Kumah, admitted to the Ghana Bar in 2013, is a founding member and Managing Partner of Aduaprokye Chambers, a law firm, and previously founded Majak Associates Ltd, a construction company, before becoming the CEO of NEIP in 2017, bringing over 15 years of experience in leadership, job creation, and supporting youth development.

John Kumah, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), won the Parliamentary seat for the Ejisu constituency in 2020 and currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Finance.

John Kumah has been awarded numerous accolades, including being recognized as the most efficient and prominent appointee, listed among President Akufo Addo's top 20 most humble and respectful appointees, honored as the most outstanding integrity CEO by ACID, receiving awards for being the most outstanding CEO and influential transformational leader from GEHAB Events, and being honored by AASU for his dedication to promoting student activism and entrepreneurship.

In April 2021, Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah was appointed as the Deputy Minister designate for the Ministry of Finance.

In August 2022, Kumah generously covered the expenses for five sets of prosthetics for road accident victims, specifically benefiting Peter Mensah and Moses Addai.

Kumah holds the position of Vice Chairperson in the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee and is also a member of the Appointments and Subsidiary Legislation committees.

John Kumah is married to Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, who is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Disciple of Christ Ministries Worldwide. They have six biological children and have also provided care for numerous foster children.

The Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, John Kumah, passed away at the age of 45 on Thursday, March 7, 2024, after a brief illness; known for his integrity and dedication, Kumah was widely recognized for his contributions to job creation, youth development, and entrepreneurship in Ejisu and beyond, leaving behind a legacy of impactful projects and a grieving family, including his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children.
