Early life
After leaving Barking and Dagenham College in 1988, Idris Elba received a Prince's Trust grant, allowing him to join the National Youth Music Theatre, and he took on various jobs such as tyre-fitting, cold-calling, and night shifts at Ford Dagenham to support himself while pursuing acting opportunities, eventually auditioning for television roles in his early twenties.

Career
Idris Elba began his acting career with small roles on British television, including appearances in shows like "Crimewatch" and "The Bill." He gained international recognition for his portrayal of Russell "Stringer" Bell on the HBO series "The Wire" and has since appeared in numerous films, including "Thor," "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," and "The Suicide Squad." Personal life
Idris Elba, known for his acting career, has been married three times, has two children, and is currently married to Canadian model Sabrina Dhowre. He describes himself as spiritual but not religious, supports Arsenal football club, and holds the land speed record for the Pendine Sands "Flying Mile" course. He became an anti-crime ambassador for The Prince's Trust in 2009 and voiced support for the UK remaining in the European Union.
