Life and career
Gyearbuor Asante, born in Accra, Ghana, moved to the UK in 1967 to pursue acting, appearing in British TV shows and films, and later a prize was named in his honor at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts after his death, while he also declined the opportunity to become a chief in his hometown in order to focus on his acting career.
