George Mireku Duker is a Ghanaian politician who has been a Deputy Minister at Ghana's Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources since 2021, and he represents Tarkwa-Nsuaem as a Member of Parliament.
George Mireku Duker was born in the Tarkwa municipality's Dompim-Pepesa.The University of Education-Kumasi Campus (now A.A.M. U.S.T.E.D.) awarded Duker a B.Ed. in Accounting in 2006. 2010 saw Duker graduate with a master's in oil and gas management from the University of Plymouth.
Duker taught at Mary's College. Prior to being chosen by President John Agyekum Kuffour in 2008 as the Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, he worked as a Special Aide at Ghana's Ministry of Local Government in 2007.In addition, from 2011 to 2012, Duker managed the programs of the Integrated Social Development Center (ISODEC).
Duker ran for parliament in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency as a New Patriotic Party candidate in the December 2016 elections. Following his victory in the competition, he was appointed vice chair of the select committee on mines and energy for the seventh parliament.
Duker was named the first chairwoman of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) in 2019 by President Nana Akufo-Addo. In order to collect royalties on minerals and other associated income due Ghana from mining operations, the fund oversees the equity interests of the mining businesses in the Republic of Ghana.
Duker was put forth by President Nana Akufo Addo for the position of Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources in April 2021.
