George Akuffo Dampare is a Ghanaian chartered accountant and police officer
At the age of 20, Dampare joined the Ghana Police Service as a police constable in December 1990. He was named the school's overall best recruit, winning all prizes save the Best Marksman medal.
Aides-de-camp to the Vice President, Director General (Finance), Director General (Welfare), Director General (ICT), Commandant of the Police Command and Staff College, Accra Regional Police Commander, and Director General (Operations) are just a few of the command and staff positions Dampare held prior to being named IGP.He was sworn in as the Ghana Police Service's official Inspector General of Police (IGP) on October 8, 2021.

On July 21, 2021, President Nana Akufo-Addo nominated him as the interim Inspector General of Police of the Ghana Police Service, starting August 1, 2021, replacing James Oppong-Boanuh, who had held the position since October 2019
