Freda Akosua Oheneafrewo Prempeh, born on January 23, 1966, in Accra to a Ghanaian Royal family, has an extensive educational background. She started her education at University Primary School in Kumasi, completed her O-levels at Technology Secondary School, and A-levels at Accra Workers College. She holds a Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, is a Certified Public Accountant, and possesses marketing certificates from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. She earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Ghana, an MA in Comms, Media, and Public Relations from the University of Leicester, UK, and a PhD in Business Administration from the Ghana Technology University College.

Before becoming a Member of Parliament in 2013, she worked as a manageress at the Point Four Hotel in Sunyani and had a 10-year career with the Prison Service. She is passionate about sports and a strong advocate for women's capabilities.
She was appointed Deputy Minister of Works and Housing in 2017 by President Akufo-Addo and now serves as the Deputy Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection. In the 2020 Ghanaian general election, she won the Tano North seat with over 51% of the vote, securing her third term in the 8th parliament of the Fourth Republic.
