Francis Asenso-Boakye is a politician and businessman. He currently serves as the Minister for Works and Housing and ran MP for the Bantama Constituency.
He was born on September 24, 1977, and is a native of Maase in Ghana's Ashanti Region
He was a former New Patriotic Party student activist before transitioning into mainstream politics in Ghana. He was instrumental in the creation of the party's tertiary students wing, the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON[7]), and he served as its founding president while completing his undergraduate degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Asenso-Boakye pursued a master's degree in public policy and administration at Michigan State University, Michigan, USA, as a Rotary Scholar after earning a degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Asenso-Boakye is a development planning, project management, and policy specialist with extensive experience in various fields. He has held positions at the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare, Global Media Alliance, Delta Acquisitions and Development, Michigan House of Representatives, Ghana Free Zones Board, Tema Export Processing Zone, and GIPC.
Francis Asenso-Boakye was designated as the political assistant and deputy chief of staff in January 2017
He is the member of parliament for the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana He received 88.84% of the votes cast in the 2020 general elections, making him the winner of the seat for Bantama in the Ghanaian parliament. As a result, he has been chosen to serve as the Ministry of Works and Housing (Ghana)'s minister-designate
