Evans Bobie Opoku was born on December 1, 1974, in Dadiesoaba, Ahafo Region.
Evans Bobie Opoku completed his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 1990 and the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) in 1993. His educational pursuits continued with the General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1996. Later, in 2002, he obtained a diploma in Adult Education from the University of Ghana. Subsequently, he earned a bachelor's degree in Social Work and Psychology in 2008 and a master's degree in Development Management from the University of Cape Coast in 2012, followed by an LLB in Law in 2020.
Evans Bobie Opoku's professional journey reflects a diverse range of experiences. From 2002 to 2006, he served as the Credit Manager and later as the General Manager for the Ahafo Community Bank Limited. During the period from 1997 to 1999, he dedicated his efforts as a tutor, demonstrating his commitment to both education and community development.
As a dedicated member of the NPP, Evans has risen to prominence in the political arena. In the 2020 Ghana general elections, he secured the parliamentary seat for the Asunafo North Constituency with 34,684 votes, surpassing his NDC counterpart, Mohammed Haruna.
Evans has held key positions, serving as the Regional Minister for both the Bono Ahafo region and the Ahafo region. His dedication to youth and sports was further underscored when he was appointed Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports in 2021. Additionally, he assumed the role of caretaker Regional Minister for the Bono-East region.
Evans Bobie Opoku is a member of the Government Assurance Committee, where he plays a crucial role in ensuring accountability. Moreover, his involvement in the Environment, Science, and Technology Committee reflects his dedication to addressing critical issues related to the environment and technology in Ghana.
