Eric Afful was born on January 1, 1974, in Asankragwa, in the Western Region of Ghana.
Eric's educational background includes his B.E.C.E. in 1988, O levels in 1993, and A levels in 1995. Additionally, the user completed a B.Ed in Social Science (Economics) in 2002, an MA in Human Resource Development in 2010, an MSc in Economic Planning and Development in 2015, and certification as a Chartered Economist in 2020.
Eric Afful is a proud member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In 2012, he embarked on his political journey by contesting for the Amenfi West seat on the NDC ticket in the sixth parliament of the Fourth Republic.
In the 2016 election, Eric Afful of the NDC secured 56.87% with 23,673 votes, Paul Dekyin of the PPP received 41.65% with 17,336 votes, Abraham Kojo Buadee of the PPP got 1.13% with 471 votes, and Philip Toku of the CPP earned 0.34% with 143 votes.
In the 2020 election, Eric Afful of the NDC obtained 51.56% with 30,748 votes, Abraham Kofi Asante of the NPP garnered 47.28% with 28,201 votes, and Stephen Nobigum received 1.16% with 692 votes.
