Dr. Raymond A. Atuguba is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana.
Dr. Atuguba has traveled extensively while serving as a consultant for numerous nations, government agencies, and international organizations. The governments of Ghana and Liberia, the UNDP, UN-OHCHR, UNODC, the World Bank, ECOWAS, DFID, EU, USAID, GTZ (GIS), Danida, ILO, IOM, FES, British Council, IIED, CHRI, OSIWA, IBIS, Action Aid International, Plan International, and Oxfam are among them.
He served on the UN High-Level Task Force on the Implementation of the Right to Development from 2008 to 2010.
He served as the Executive Secretary of the Constitution Review Commission, which was tasked with examining Ghana's 1992 Constitution, between 2010 and 2012. His appointment was made by Ghana's President.
The majority of Dr. Atuguba's publications and significant research have dealt with the interaction of law, human rights, policy, governance, the politics and economics of development, institutions, and institutional change. Dr. Atuguba has held fellowships at Harvard University, the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, and Harvard Law School. He is a member of the African Studies Association, the Ghana Society for Development Dialogue, and the Ghana Bar Association. He has served on over 50 boards and committees, including the International Consortium on Law and Development, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy, and the Legal Resources Center.
Dr. Raymond A. Atuguba teaches constitutional law, administrative law, Ghana legal systems, jurisprudence, and seminars on governance, human rights, and law and development at the University of Ghana's Faculty of Law. He has taught human rights, law, and development seminars at Harvard University and Monash University and is a Sheila Biddle Ford Foundation Fellow.
