Dr. Kwame Kyei was born in Accra on February 2, 1961. He was raised in Accra but is from Agona Wiamoase in the Ashanti area.
He started his business empire in Taifa, Accra, in 1995, and the development has been incredibly motivating. Dr. Kyei moved from Taifa to take the helm of Ghana Oil Company (Goil), where he has gradually seen his company grow ever since.
In 2002, he obtained an oil marketing license from the National Petroleum Authority, enabling him to establish Unity Oil Company Ltd., a Ghanaian oil marketing firm. Dr. Kyei is also the CEO of several other companies, including Light FM & TV, Vision 1 FM, sports hotels, the Sports Recreational Center, and numerous Unity Oil locations in Accra and Kumasi.
He received the Best Petroleum and Gas Entrepreneur award in 2013. He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Services and Development degree by the International Ministerial Council of Europe, a partner institution of Ghana's and Denmark's University of Copenhagen
He is the owner of Vision 1 FM, a privately owned Ghanaian radio station that features Christian programs and donations to the needy and is owned by Dr. Kwame Kyei.
