Early life and education

Born on January 8, 1967, in Buabinso-Dunkwa-Offin, Ghana, Festus completed his secondary education at Tarkwa Secondary School and Fijai Secondary School in 1988. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, and Geography from the University of Ghana, and a Finance MBA from the University of Leicester in 2003. He also earned a Master's in Applied Business Research and a post-graduate certificate in Contemporary Management from the Swiss Business School in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2017.

Festus served as the CEO of Jeseque Company Limited, the Director of Risk Management at Bank of Africa, Ghana, the Deputy Managing Director at Cocoa Merchant Limited, and the Chief Finance Officer at First African Group Limited.

Festus, a member of the NPP, defeated the incumbent Nana Amoako in the June 2020 NPP parliamentary primaries to become the party's candidate in the 2020 Ghanaian general election. He also serves as a Board Member of the Ghana Shippers Authority.
