Deyemi Okanlawon

Okanlawon, born in Lagos, Nigeria, to an Aircraft Engineer father and a baker and entrepreneur mother, attended Taikenny Nursery and Primary School and International School in Lagos before pursuing Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos; later, he transitioned to acting and acquired a Certificate in Acting for Film from the New York Film Academy.

Okanlawon's acting journey began at a young age with school plays and television commercials, and after joining drama groups during his time at the University of Lagos, he later transitioned to acting full-time and has since been involved in numerous film, stage, and television projects, gaining recognition for his roles in various productions.

In 2013, he received the Best Actor award at the In-Short film festival for his portrayal of a psychotic husband in the thriller "Blink," and he also participated in the Acting for Film course at the New York Film Academy in partnership with Del-York.

In 2015, Deyemi established Covenant Entertainment Services, a production and talent management firm, later becoming a consultant to Silverbird Film Distribution

In 2017, Deyemi made his debut in the Romantic Comedy drama titled "Scars," starring alongside Lilian Esoro and Chelsea Eze, under the direction of Tope Alake and written by Psalm Oderinde.

In 2019, he assumed the role of marketing manager, eventually rising to head Nollywood and Independent movie distribution and serving as acting CEO, overseeing the company's operations.

In 2022, he earned his inaugural nomination at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy due to his performance in "Omo Ghetto: The Saga."

In January 2013, Okanlawon tied the knot, and on 10 July 2016, he and his wife Damilola celebrated the arrival of their first child.
