Her political career began to gain traction during the 2016 Ghanaian general elections when she contested and won the NPP parliamentary seat for Agona West Constituency. In this election, she faced stiff competition from candidates of the National Democratic Congress and the Convention People's Party but emerged victorious with 58.03 percent of total valid votes, securing 32,770 votes out of the 56,878 cast.

In the 2020 Ghanaian general election, Cynthia Morrison once again contested as the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party.
