Early Life and Education

Carol King was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on July 24th, 1963, to Edo-born parents. Growing up in a close-knit family, Carol's father's profession as a policeman led to frequent relocations within Nigeria. As a result, she had the opportunity to learn local dialects such as Yoruba and Hausa. Carol attended St. Theresa's Primary School in Marine Beach, Lagos, and displayed exceptional brilliance, which prompted her parents to encourage her to take the entrance examination for secondary school. She excelled and was admitted to the Awori Comprehensive High School in Lagos. Later, she obtained a diploma in Insurance from Ahmadu Bello University and a bachelor's degree in Christian Religious Studies from Lagos State University.

career

In 1999, Carol King joined the Nigerian movie industry, commonly known as Nollywood. Her acting journey commenced when she auditioned for the radio drama "I Need To Know." However, it was her role in the popular television series "Everyday People" that catapulted her to fame and made her a household name. Carol's portrayal of "Jumoke" garnered widespread recognition. She is also well-known for her motherly roles in television dramas and Nollywood movies. Throughout her career, Carol has appeared in various stage plays, dramas, television soap operas, and films, including The Gods Are Still Not To Blame, Dazzling Mirage, I Need To Know, Tinsel, Edge of Paradise, Blaze of Glory, Eko Law, Emerald, Journey To Self, North East, For Colored Girls, Prison Chronicles, The Wives, and more. She has shared the screen with esteemed actors such as Bimbo Manuel, Olu Jacobs, Akin Lewis, Kate Henshaw, Ireti Doyle, Gabriel Afolayan, and Norbert Young.

After her failed first marriage, Carol King is currently married to Captain Kolawole King, a pilot from Isale Eko. The couple has three children together: two boys named Ikemefuna Nsolo and Abdulqudus King, and a daughter named Oluwasoladegbin King. Apart from her acting career, Carol enjoys indulging in her hobbies, which include reading, traveling, and swimming.
