Bright Adjei

Bright Adjei was born on 27 April 1994.

Adjei's football journey began in 2010 when he joined Elmina Sharks. As an amateur player, he showcased his potential, impressing with his goal-scoring abilities. 

In 2012, at the age of 18, he made a move to Tema Youth, where he continued to thrive. Over a span of three years, Adjei netted an impressive 22 goals for the club, helping them secure promotion from the 3rd tier to the 2nd tier. His standout performances earned him the top scorer's award in 2015, attracting the attention of Aduana Stars.

Adjei's talent also caught the attention of national team selectors. He represented the Ghana national under-23 football team, the Black Meteors, in the 2015 All-African Games held in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. Adjei also received call-ups to the local Black Stars, demonstrating his potential to contribute at higher levels of competition.

In December 2015, Adjei signed a 3-year contract with Aduana Stars, a Ghana Premier League side. He quickly established himself as a vital player for the team, contributing 12 goals in his debut season. Adjei's remarkable performances propelled Aduana Stars to a second-place finish, narrowly missing out on the ultimate prize by a mere 2 points. His acrobatic goal against Ashanti Gold in March 2016 earned him the prestigious CNN Goal of the Week award, defeating renowned players such as Luis Suarez and Tom Rogic.

In August 2019, after the expiration of his contract with Aduana Stars, Adjei joined Burgan SC, a Kuwaiti side. During his time there, he displayed his goal-scoring prowess, finding the back of the net 10 times in 40 matches.

Adjei eventually returned to Aduana Stars, rejecting rumored advances from Accra Hearts of Oak. Adjei's loyalty to his former club was rewarded when he scored a crucial equalizer in a Bono derby match against rivals Berekum Chelsea.

Throughout his career, Adjei has amassed numerous individual and team honors. He holds the record for being Aduana Stars' all-time top scorer, with an impressive tally of 42 goals. Additionally, he has received the CNN Goal of the Week award twice, in March 2016 and August 2016, showcasing his ability to produce spectacular goals. Adjei was also named the Ghana Premier League Player of the Month in February 2022.
