Bill Asamoah was born on May 1, 1972, in Ashtown, Kumasi. Bill Asamoah's parents, Mrs. Esther Owusu Assuming and Agya Asamoah, unfortunately, separated during his childhood. After their divorce, Bill was raised by his stepmother, while his biological mother, Esther, remarried and had children of her own. Tragically, Esther passed away at the age of 64 in July 2021.
After completing his sixth-form education in Kumasi, Bill Asamoah enrolled at the Christian Service University College, where he earned a first degree in Monitoring and Evaluation. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue a Master's Degree from the same institution. However, his career took an unexpected turn when he stumbled upon the world of acting.
While working as a radio/television presenter at Fontomfrom Radio/TV in Asokwa, Bill Asamoah chanced upon a movie set near his workplace. Intrigued, he approached the scene and discovered that one of his friends, Asare Badiako, was a movie producer. Impressed by Bill's charisma and talent, the cast and crew encouraged him to join them. This marked the beginning of his acting career.
Bill Asamoah initially joined the drama club "Ogyatanan" before making his debut in the movie "Asem," produced by Miracle Films Productions. This breakthrough paved the way for his involvement in numerous Kumawood movies, alongside renowned stars like Nana Aba McBrown, Agya Koo, Maame Serwaa, and Yaa Jackson. Some notable titles he has starred in include "M'ewo Awurade," "Adanfo Bone," and "The Recruitment."
Bill Asamoah's talent and dedication to his craft have garnered him several accolades and awards. In 2018, he received the prestigious "Actor of the Year" award at the Ghana Leadership Awards. The following year, he was honored at the 3G Awards and received a citation at ATEA 2019, KESSBEN University. He has also been recognized at the KAFF Awards and Ghana Movie Awards.
Beyond acting, Bill Asamoah has established himself as an entrepreneur and advocate for various causes. He serves as the CEO of Okyerema Trading & Entertainment and owns a beauty salon called "The Boss" in Kumasi. In 2019, he was appointed a Tourism Ambassador by Hon. Catherine Afeku, highlighting his commitment to promoting Ghana's tourism industry. Additionally, he holds the roles of Sanitation Ambassador and Ambassador for "My Story Foundation."
Bill Asamoah found love and companionship in Marian Boakye, now known as Marian Asamoah Addo, whom he married in 2007. Together, they have three children, two sons, and a daughter named Abigail Asamoah. Bill's dedication to his family is evident in his busy but fulfilling life.
