Born on November 1, 1968, in the town of Akropong, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Benito Owusu Bio's educational journey began with his Primary Certificate in 1976. He achieved his Ordinary Level and Advanced Level education in 1987 and 1989 respectively. He pursued higher education at the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Economy in 1994. His academic pursuits also led him to the University of Birmingham, where he obtained a Master's degree in Hospitality Management in 1998.
Before entering politics, Benito Owusu Bio served as the General Manager at the Hotel Georgia Limited in Kumasi, gaining valuable experience in the hospitality industry.
Benito Owusu Bio is a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), a prominent political party in Ghana. His journey into politics began with his election as the Member of Parliament for the Atwima-Nwabiagya North constituency in the 2004 Ghanaian general elections.He secured a resounding victory, obtaining 80.2% of the total valid votes cast.
Owusu Bio's electoral success continued in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020, as he was re-elected to represent the same constituency. His consistent victories reflect the trust and support he has garnered from his constituents over the years.
During his tenure in the 7th Parliament, Benito Owusu Bio actively participated in various parliamentary committees, including the Public Accounts Committee, Poverty Reduction Strategy Committee, Roads and Transport Committee, and Lands and Forestry Committee.
In addition to his committee roles, Owusu Bio was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, a testament to his expertise in land economics and his commitment to environmental sustainability in Ghana.
